Summer Reading

I am not going to tell fibs but, I really hate summer reading. I don’t really see what the point of it is, I mean do teachers think we are going to forget how to read over a 2 month span. I was really surprised when I saw that we were being forced to read two books, instead of having an option of what we could read. I really didn’t think to much of the two books, The Last Lecture and 1984. I think that I could have picked out more interesting books that I would have much rather read. For example, the other book I read, Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Rings has got to be the best book I have ever read and I strongly recommend you go and read it. you will love it. I think the summer reading would be so much better if we could just pick out whatever books we would like to read.

Now, the reading project I really don’t see what the point of it is. I would almost rather just right a paper about our book. I don’t understand what we a really supposed to do but, I am sure I will learn soon when I go back to class Tuesday. I am excited about starting the project, and I am hoping that I do pretty well.

BLOGGING

At first I really thought that this blogging thing was really stupid, but now I think it is a really good idea. After reading some of the students blogs, last years, you could really see what kind of effort the students put into there work. The thing I like best about this whole blogging thing is that you get to express whatever your thinking and feeling. I would much rather this then doing a paper or some other stupid thing for homework. It is really not that bad and you get finished with it pretty quickly. Also after reading the direstions I think that if you do everything that you are told to do it really isnt hard to get a good grade on this.

But the one thing that I really dont like about the blogging is the fact that each blog has to be a minimum of 2 paragraohs. I think that it is going to be really hard to write two good paragraphs about every topic. But other then us having the write two paragraphs, I think that the blogging will turn out pretty well, and I am excited about getting started with all the blogging.

About ME

Hello Everyone, I am Landon Lyons I am 16 years old and in the 11th grade. I play a little golf and soccer every now and then, I enjoy listening to Hip Hop, my favoite raper is LiL Weezyana. It feels really wierd going back to school, expeically because our school days have changed. I miss having all the free time that we had last year. But I enjoy hanging out with my friends and watching ESPN. After seeing Usain Bolt demolish everyone in the olympics I would have to say that that guy has now become my hero. I have a sister named Katherine (Kat) Lyons that lives with my mom in Austin Texas. She has graduated form high school and is not attending The University of Mary Hardin Baylor.

I am really excited about this blogging thing I think that it is going to work out pretty well, but we will see. English is not my favorite or best subject but I am determend to do well this year. I am worried about my grade in this class because all of the people I have talked to about it say that Mrs. Duke gives alot of homework. So I am not looking forward to that.
