haha this weekend was so funny. On saturday, I woke up really early to go play golf with some friends at santa meria. I felt great, we were playing 20 bucks a 9 and 5 dollars closest to the pin on the par 3s. omg my friends are stupid, either that or they think they are better then me. anyway, I ended up playing pretty good and won the match, I also won closest to the pin on 3 holes. after adding it up, I ended up winning 140 dollars. I wont the match so i got 30 dollars a 9 from both of them, which was 120 total, then I won 30 dollars for getting closest to the pin. But i lost one of the closest to the pin so i had to pay someone 10 dollars.

Then on sunday, hunter anthoney ted sam and i played a game called wolff, and i won 93 dollars there, so all in all it was a really good weekend for me haha

Beowulf is a product of its time for many reasons. In the book, Beowulf, or should I say poem there are a ton of parties, which helps show that alot of people back in those days loved to party.  I think the many reason Beowulf is a product of its time is because of the fact that it was written in old english, that shows alot the people that see it. Another main reason would be the battles, back then people would battle over anything, an apple or maybe even a piece of bread, its rediculous.

To me Beowulf is fantasitic, it impacts even this time period greatly. I think this is won of the best heroic poems I have read or even heard about, it effects me so much, I dream to be like Beowulf, that would be amazing, I could only wish to be like him haha. One thing that sets this book a part from others of its time is probably how much it goes into details, I dont no how book were back then but I would imagine that it wasnt as details as this one. its greatb

Umm in class this week….. we talked alot about Beowulf, one thing I think really helped me was the fact that we all sat down and talked alot about the book. One time Ms. Duke told like four people to like summerize what they read for the night befores homework, and I think that helped me alot. After reading the first couple of pages I asked myself “what in the world just happened” and i sat there and tried to figure out exactly what happened, and I could not comprehend it. But when we got to class the next day our great teacher took the time out of her day to explain exacltly what happened throughout the first couple of pages, I thought this really helped me and I think that we should do it more often.

Wow, to my suprise this book is legit, meaning that it is a pretty good book. Beowulf is a complete hoss, hes amazing. This peom is great, cant get any better (unless if we didnt have to read haha) but it is full of action and has a great main character in Beowulf, which is exactly what i like to see in a book.

As I was reading the first couple of days I started to think it would be a good idea to try and find some of the things we have been talking about in class like the poetic elements (versification and alliteration). I must admit, these things are really hard for me to find, it takes a while and I have to like stop focusing on the story and focus on these things to find it. Its frustrating, so I stopped which isnt the best idea.

British Literature, also known as the “Age of Anxiety” was a great time period in my mind. During the 17th century British Lit. was given this name because of agitation people had to go through, in other words, change was going about at this time, and it was happening quickly and oftenly. While all of this was going on 2 different kind of poets were formed, the Cavaliers and the Metaphyical. The Cavaliers was a conserative group that would not right a whol bunch but instead would use perfect words to get the point across. The Metaphyicals, on the other hand was a group of poets that had radical ideas, meaning they were radical with there writings.

Do you want to know the deffinition of H*ll? If you do then here it it. It was December 21, 2008 and man was I glad to be out of school, but I knew I was in for a world of pain. December 24 came around quicker then someone could say hey, and it was christmas eve. I sat back in my all so comfortable recliner and watched the morning show or spongebob square pants. It was one of my favorite episodes, the one when Spongebob bought the blow up arms to impress all of his friends, then went to the anker toss and couldnt even move it. It was so funny.

The next morning came quick, it was christmas and I wondered if I was going to get what I wanted, an ipod. After we opened presents, and I had relized that i didnt get what I had wanted all year, I sat back and read, one might ask my I read, I did it because there was nothing else to do then. After reading a while I started to think about how the next day was going to be h e double hocky sticks. On December 27 we left for El Paso Texas, it was a 17 hour drive and I was not looking forward to it at all. Then we would have to come back to missouri, then go to lousiville, then to memphis, the back to my true home in Baton Rouge La. All together over my break I was on the road for 73 total hours, that is the diffinition of h*ll

I really need to improve a lot this quarter, my grades in this class have really been struggling. One thing that I will not change is my attitude and work effort. I believe that know matter how much work a teacher might give you , you should always try your hardest to get the stuff done that needs to be done.

There are a lot of things that I need to change in this quarter, one of them being that I really need to improve my grade in this class. Also I hope to improve my writing and reading skills, I have taken the ACT and I struggle in writing and reading more the I do in Mathamatics and Science/Socail studies. This quarter I hope to get an A or a B, but I know that it is going to be a lot of work in order to do that.
